Sarah Rene Kraft -Art and Illustration-
Hello, DeviantArt community! It's been a while, so please allow me to reintroduce myself:
I'm Sarah, a traditional illustrator from Sacramento, CA, working to publish my art book and complete my tarot deck.
My deeply personal artwork—drawn using primarily a red and blue double-ended colored pencil—and essay-style musings work together to explore the themes of mental disorder, personal wellness, and attachment theory as seen through the lenses of Greek mythology and symbolism.

Witch and Wizard Story
Though still untitled, work has been pouring out of me on a silly little magical story that popped into my head recently. The Lemiscus Book
Work continues on the book! Getting to a place where I hope to be producing one to two illustrations per week. I can't wait to get all these ideas on paper!
"Lemiscus" is Latin for "a ribbon," something I have seen pop up on my work again and again. The Chinese believed that fate was a red string that connected everything. While I don't believe in pre-destiny, I do believe that we make decisions today that limit our options tomorrow. But often times, these limitations are false and as easy to tear as ribbon. Likewise, the relationships between things are as fragile and delicate as ribbon is easy to cut.

Inky Woman Sketchbook
Lately, I've been doing all my warm-up drawings in brush-pen and ink. I'm thinking of collecting these ink sketches into a zine or small book, to be for sale somewhere online. I used to draw with brushpen quite a bit and greatly missed it, so it's nice to return to the more frenzied way of drawing that the medium provides for me. Got some catch-up work to do for #inktober as well.
